DEA Apologizes For Bursting Into Wrong House

The Drug Enforcement Agency is apologizing to a Tennessee family after SWAT team officers kicked down their door and threw flash-bang grenades inside their home.  The DEA says that Tuesday's raid was a mistake and they were at the wrong house. Homeowner Spencer Renck says that his family was shaken up, his front door was broken, the house was filled with smoke and their son was temporarily blinded and deaf from the flash-bang grenades.  A statement from the DEA says "Situations such as these are tragic, and the DEA takes them very seriously. We intend to look into this matter further and to take steps to ensure that situations such as this never occur again."  After going to the correct house next door, officers did arrest the suspect they were after.
