They are a part of our everyday lives, they are some of the biggest companies, but most of us either don't know they're acronyms or don't know what they mean! I found this while aimlessly scrolling through TikTok one night.
Do you know what GIECO stands for? The company is pretty old, more than 80 years in fact, and was originally formed as an insurance company exclusively for U.S. Government employees. GEICO is an acronym for Government Employee Insurance Company!
How about BWM? Bavarian Motor Works!
This one kind of blew my mind, NERF...like the soft guns and stuff you played with when you were a kid...Non Expandable Recreational Foam! WHAT?
And this one is like something from THE MAXTRIX. Yahoo! stands for Yet Another Hierarchical Officious Oracle. Um, huh??
