Miley Cyrus Features Liam Hemsworth In Personal Decade Tribute Video

Miley Cyrus is looking back on the ups and downs of her past decade.

On Wednesday (January 1), the “Mother’s Daughter” singer walked into the New Year in a reflective state of mind when she unveiled a video montage chronicling the most significant moments of her life in the past 10 years. What’s more, Cyrus provided a visual teaser to promote her new EP, She Is Here, dropping sometime this year.

The powerful tribute project entitled Miley Cyrus Decade Video: 10 Years in 10 Minutes, opens to a scene of the 27-year-old from her time on Disney’s Hannah Montana before panning to a clip from her 2010 romance film, The Last Song, that features then-boyfriend Liam Hemsworth.

The video then chronicles the lovebird’s 2012 engagement, Cyrus’ Bangerz era — including her infamous MTV Video Music Awards performance — and her eventual breakup with the Australian hunk in September 2013. During this time, the singer had strayed from her Disney image, having become more comfortable with promoting recreational drug use and sexuality years later. 2016 onward emphasized a turning point for the Happy Hippie Foundation founder, who became vocal about her passion for philanthropy and social activism.

The clips that follow illustrate Cyrus’ growth not only within herself but also in her artistry, as heard during her Younger Now era in 2017. Albeit unmentioned, this was also the same year she and the Hunger Games actor had reconciled their love and became engaged. In 2018, Cyrus and Hemsworth’s love was put to the test amid the California wildfires that destroyed their Malibu home the month before celebrating their marriage in an intimate, close-knit ceremony on December 23, 2018.

As revealed in the tribute, the couple’s marriage, unfortunately, came to an end in August 2019. Just before the clip end, Cyrus teases promotional footage for She Is Here, signaling her new era of music is fast-approaching.
