The show must go on, and nothing, not even a nasty tumble down a hill, can stop Jay Leno from performing.
Leno recently had a comedy show at Yaamava' Casino in Southern California, and just hours before the show, fell down a hill at his hotel while trying to get to a restaurant for a bite to eat, leaving him with some gnarly injuries. TMZ caught up with Jay to ask what happened, and in the video, he is wearing an eye patch and has a big bruise on the entire side of his face.
Jay recalled of the incident, "I was staying at a hotel, it was on a hill, and there was a ... I said, 'Where is a good place to eat?'" He continued, "The restaurant was there [at the bottom of the hill], but to get to it, I didn't have a car, so you had to walk about a mile and a half around. I said, 'Well, the hill doesn't look that steep, it's about 60/70 feet, let me see if I can go down.' And then, I fell down and boom, boom, boom. I rolled down the hill, hit my head on a rock, knocked me in the eye."
But, the fall didn't prohibit him from doing his show, because he performed, and then went to the hospital to get checked out once he was back in Los Angeles. He explained, "It's not that big a deal, it's alright."
Leno concluded with this lesson he's learned after suffering injuries from several other accidents over the last few years: "The great thing about this age is you don't learn by your mistakes. You just keep doing the same stupid thing."
