The Trump administration announced that two million illegal immigrants have either been removed or self-deported from the United States since January 20. According to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), approximately 1.6 million individuals have voluntarily left the country, while federal law enforcement has removed 400,000. This milestone reflects the administration's intensified immigration enforcement efforts.

DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin stated, "The numbers don’t lie: 2 million illegal aliens have been removed or self-deported in just 250 days," emphasizing the effectiveness of President Donald Trump’s policies and the leadership of DHS Secretary Kristi Noem. The administration is on track to deport nearly 600,000 illegal aliens by the end of President Trump’s first year since returning to office, as reported by Fox News.

The administration has also offered incentives for self-deportation, including free flights and $1,000, although it remains unclear how many have accepted this offer.

The Trump administration has increased the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) budget by $75 billion through the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, which has facilitated the recruitment of new agents and the expansion of detention facilities. Despite these efforts, there is a significant backlog of immigration cases, which could delay deportations.
