A group of U.S. senators reportedly received a briefing this week from Department of Defense officials concerning UFO reports from Navy pilots. The remarkable development was revealed in a piece by Politico which was published Wednesday evening after the meeting had taken place. Intriguingly, one of the senators in attendance was Mark Warner, who serves as the vice chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee.
When asked about the meeting, his office told Politico that "if naval pilots are running into unexplained interference in the air, that's a safety concern Senator Warner believes we need to get to the bottom of." A spokesperson for the Navy also confirmed that the briefing took place and indicated that it involved "efforts to understand and identify these threats to the safety and security of our aviators." It is uncertain at this time which other two senators were in attendance at the meeting.
