On April 18th, Khalia Carter was seriously injured in a car accident and suffered a traumatic brain injury and a total loss of motor skills, including the ability to walk. She only had a month left of high school and would miss all the end-of-year celebrations, but she was determined to make it to at least one event: her graduation. Khalia spent the four weeks in daily physical therapy sessions and then on May 21st, all her work paid off when she walked across the stage on her own and got her diploma.
